Launched in November 2023 by the French Government, the Accessibility Ambassador’s system advises and supports buildings open to the public (ERP) in their efforts to make them more accessible.
Organised in Pairs, the Accessibility Ambassadors, aged between 16 and 25 years (30 years for persons with disabilities) raise awareness of the issues of the inclusion of people with disabilities and support managers of public buildings (ERP) to develop their accessibility.
Young people provide accessibility information on Acceslibre platform, the collaborative platform listing the accessibility characteristics of buildings open to the public.
The relaunch of the Accessibility Ambassador’s system introduces something new: from now on, the young people in civic service will be welcomed directly into state services, and more precisely in the Departmental directorates of their territories and the sea. (DDT/M)
