The Directorate General for Accessibility has drawn up the Strategic Plan for Universal Accessibility for the city of Madrid. The Plan is configured as a municipal management instrument in terms of accessibility, which seeks to improve the tools used, the protocols and management mechanisms that make improvements more effective and their perception, involving the entire administrative structure of the municipal corporation.

The Plan is structured in five strategic lines that condense the major issues that articulate the future work on UA to be carried out by the City Council and in which the guiding principles of the Plan are embodied, especially those of mainstreaming and participation. These strategic lines are developed through 17 operational objectives and these, in turn, into 64 proposals.
