On October 11, 2022, the Sport Vlaanderen sports center in Brasschaat was the first to receive the A++ Accessible Sports Infrastructure label from Flemish Minister of Sports Ben Weyts.

Sport Vlaanderen Brasschaat is an inclusive multisport centre fully accessible to athletes with or without disabilities. Because the building consists of a single storey, it is literally a barrier-free building.

The spacious sports centre includes a spacious cafeteria, sports hall, omnisports hall, first aid room, eight changing rooms - four of which are suitable for athletes with disabilities, refereeing changing rooms and sanitary facilities.

All facilities are accessible; main entrances with automatic doors, sufficiently wide doors of at least 100 cm, free turning circles, no or well bridged level differences, flat paved surfaces, colour contrasts, 12 adapted and reserved parking spaces in the renovated car park.

The omnisports hall has fixed lines for goalball and torball, two ball sports for the visually impaired. The sports hall was given a new sports floor, with fixed lines for adaptive/inclusive sports: 2x goalball, 3x boccia, 2x torball, 1x electric wheelchair hockey and 1x wheelchair rugby.

The walls of the omnisports hall are also finished with acoustic panels so that the players can easily hear the bell that is in the balls of these sports. But good acoustics are also important for people with ADHD and autism so as not to experience too many stimuli.

The reception building made of glass is light and transparent, has a lowered and under-seat desk and connects with a connecting corridor to the sports halls, sanitary facilities and changing rooms. There is also a lending service for adapted sports equipment and a transit/storage area for sports wheelchairs.
