Pedius is a smartphone app supporting deaf and people who are hard of hearing to speak and communicate over the phone. In fact, it transforms user’s voice into text. After typing the message, Pedius will read it aloud to the selected contact using an artificial voice. The app can use the original voice of the user during the call. Thanks to Pedius’ advanced voice recognition technology, the response of the contacted person is transcribed into text in real time. Pedius allows deaf and persons who are hard of hearing to use their phone without intermediaries, while respecting privacy. Through a series of partners, it also offers users to call many essential services free of charge, therefore providing greater access to crucial support.
Pedius also helps companies to make their customer support services accessible to deaf individuals and enables specific services aimed at fostering workplace inclusion for deaf employees. It supports companies in providing accessible call centres, through which deaf customers can contact the customer support via phone, ensuring equal access to services. Pedius also offers services tailored to integration and communication in the workplace. For example, activating conference calls, combined with inbound and outbound calls, allows deaf employees to participate more actively, improving workplace integration.
Pedius also supports inclusive and accessible education to deaf students or those with learning disabilities (DSA), who often struggle to actively participate in lessons. Pedius offers real-time subtitles for full accessibility in universities and schools. In particular, it provides automatic subtitles to follow lessons in real time for deaf students, a specific font to improve readability and studying for students with DSA and automatic translations of subtitles for foreign students.
