On the website Zavod Brez ovir, which is available in English language as well, over 200 tourist offers from all over Slovenia and Europe are collected in one place, which is accessible and adapted to people in wheelchairs.
Each offer of accessible tourism is checked on the ground and contains all the necessary information on exactly how the location is adapted and to what extent. People in wheelchairs can see in advance what is accessible, which makes planning a trip or vacation much easier.
Accessibility experts go to a specific tourist offer provider and assess how well their offer is actually adapted and accessible to the physically challenged. The findings are then recorded on the website, which makes it easier for the physically challenged to find information.
In the field, accessibility experts check: whether the tourist facility has accessible toilets, whether the entrances to the building are of suitable width and without stairs, if accessible parking is available for visitors, how accessible the catering offer is, whether they have adapted bedrooms with suitable aids for lifting people in wheelchairs, are there accessible walking paths near the building, do they have access to the swimming pool for the physically challenged, and more.
