AccessibleEU December Events

December is finally here with a European forum about accessible ICT, an online course and other interesting events and workshops organised by AccessibleEU across Europe.

AccessibleEU online training course

Up until 15 December, AccessibleEU is holding its first online training course on Accessible Technology Design. This course has been designed in a MOOC format to allow students to complete it at their own pace and it has an estimated dedication time of 25 hours. It is imparted in English. More information

AccessibleEU European event 

On 13-14 December, the Regional Forum for Europe "Accessible Europe: ICT 4 ALL" will take place in Madrid, Spain. This AccessibleEU European event will serve as a convergence point, bringing together policymakers, members of civil society, academia representatives, and industry key players. Attendees will strenghten their knowledge and connections, get to vote on innovative solutions and explore the current state and good practices in web accessibility and emerging ICT. The event will be in English and it will take place in hybrid format at Fundación ONCE, Sebastián Herrera, 15, 28012 Madrid. More information

Belgium 

On 7 December, AccessibleEU will be present with an exhibitor at REVA2023, a fair held every two years in the city of Ghent, Belgium. This Dutch-language event brings together exhibitors from a variety of industries, including healthcare, mobility, education, and social services, to showcase their latest products and services designed to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and elderly. The specific focus this year is REVAcation, about inclusive tourism. More information

Finland 

AccessibleEU Finland, Avaava and the Finnish Commerce Federation are organising the workshop Accessibility in e-commerce. The event aims to summarise the current picture and legislation demands in e-commerce accessibility in Finland and observe the success factors in e-commerce accessibility. It will be hybrid and in Finnish, and it will take place on 5 December at The Event Square of Helsinki City Hall, Pohjoisesplanadi 11-13, 00170 Helsinki. More information

Latvia 

In the framework of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, AccessibleEU Latvia is hosting a conference to raise awareness about accessibility's importance in the everyday lives of persons with disabilities. Accessibility, quo vadis? will take place on 5 December in hybrid format, at National Library of Latvia, Mukusalas str. 3, Riga. More information

Romania 

Are you interested in inclusive culture? If so, the event that AccessibleEU Romania is holding on 7 December is for you. Accessibility and inclusion in culture: A cross-sector dialogue will cover topics such as how universal design is addressed by Romanian legislation and higher education, as well as good practices in accessibility in Romania and the EU. The event will be in Romanian and English, with simultaneous translation into English. It will take place in hybrid format at Water Museum, 26 Urseni St., Timisoara. More information

The Netherlands 

AccessibleEU Netherlands, together with HAN University of Applied Sciences, Accessibility Foundation and the Digitale Werkplaats Arnhem Nijmegen,is organising the workshop Digital inclusion and e-commerce for SMEs. The event will update about the requirements of the European Accessibility Act, and it will dive into the attendees’ own examples of products and services to see if they need changes and how they can be ready in nine months. It’s a Dutch-language onsite session that will take place on 7 December at HAN MediaLab, HAN University of Applied Sciences, Ruitenberglaan 26; 6826 CC Arnhem. More information
