AccessibleEU November events

November is here with a European-level networking session and many other interesting events and workshops organised by AccessibleEU across Europe.

Audience at an event

Germany

AccessibleEU Germany, together with the Stuttgart Media University, is offering four webinars on Accessibility of office documents. If you speak German and want to know how to make Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents accessible and conformant to the standard EN 301 549, these webinars are for you. They are free of cost and will be held on four consecutive Thursdays starting on 2 November. More information.

Spain

A European-level networking event is taking place in Spain with the purpose of strengthening contacts and connections between key players and main entities, both public, private, and non-profit. The Building Community and Connecting Stakeholders event will offer a rich networking opportunity and examine AccessibleEU first year achievements. The event will be hybrid and held at Fundación ONCE headquarters located at Calle Sebastián Herrera, 15, Madrid, from 9 to 17:30 pm. It will be conducted in Spanish and English. More information.

A week later, AccessibleEU Spain is organising Accessibility beyond borders: Preserving data, privacy, and open innovation in ICT. AccessibleEU organises this event to raise awareness and promote collaboration between different sectors. The event will be hybrid and in Spanish, and will take place on 14 November at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, ETSI Telecomunicación, Avenida Complutense 30, Salón de Actos, Building C, Madrid. On November 17, within the framework of Madrid’s Science and Technology Week, AccessibleEU organises the V Accessibility Seminars: Accessibility beyond the memory. AccessibleEU Spain is co-organising this Spanish-language workshop on memory and its importance in navigating the city, together with the "Universidad Politécnica de Madrid". It will be held in Spanish and take place at ETSAM, UPM (Sala de Grados B), Avenida Juan de Herrera, 4, 28040 Madrid. More information.

Luxembourg

Do you speak Luxembourgish? Are you interested in accessible tourism? If so, the event Accessible Tourism: Understanding the concept Design for All, organised by AccessibleEU Luxembourg, is for you. It will offer an overview of the accessibility of tourist offers in Luxembourg. This awareness-raising event is hybrid and will be held on 11 November at Maacher Lycée, 18 Rue de Muenschecker, 6760 Grevenmacher, Luxembourg. More information.

Sweden

AccessibleEU Sweden, with the support of the Post and Telecom Authority, is hosting a half-day event to help transport organisations to comply with the European Accessibility Act. The event will be in Swedish and hybrid, and will take place on 16 November at Vasagatan 1, Stockholm, SE-101 24. More information.

Portugal

On 17 November, AccessibleEU Portugal and Câmara Municipal de Cascais, in collaboration with NOVA School of Business & Economics, will host the workshop Designing accessible events. The workshop will be in Portuguese and it will be offered online free of cost. More information.

France

Are you fluent in French? Do you want to learn about the concept of Design for All? If that is the case, the workshop Design for All, what else?, organised by AccessibleEU France, is for you. This project has a 3-month duration and will begin on 21 November. It will be in French and hybrid, taking place at L’École de Design Nantes Atlantique, 61 bld de la Prairie au Duc, Nantes. Finland

AccessibleEU Finland and Avaava are organising the event Inclusive transport for all, with the collaboration of the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communication, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency. The event will focus on the topic of inclusive transportation and its developments in Finland. It will bring together professionals working on implementing accessibility requirements in the transport sector, to create networks and share good practices and lessons learnt.

The event, which will be hybrid and in Finnish, will take place at Helsinki Townhall, Helsinki on 22 November. More information.

Greece

AccessibleEU Greece, the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT) and the National Confederation of Disabled People of Greece (NCDP) are co-organising an event to raise awareness on the importance of accessibility in developing smart and inclusive cities. The event, titled Smart and inclusive cities: services for all citizens and visitors, will be in Greek and hybrid. It will take place at Hotel Titania:52 Panepistimiou Avenue, 106 78 Athens on 20 November. More information.

Right after this awareness-raising event, the workshop Designing accessible events will take place. AccessibleEU, The European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT) and the National Confederation of Disabled People of Greece (NCDP) are co-organising this workshop in Athens to raise awareness on the importance of accessibility for persons with disabilities. It will be in Greek, hybrid, and take place at Hotel Titania:52 Panepistimiou Avenue, 106 78 Athens on 20 November. More information.

Finally on 27 November, AccessibleEU, together with ENAT and NCPD Greece, is hosting the event Mainstreaming accessibility in products and services: Implementing the EU Accessibility Directive. This networking event will provide information about the requirements and implementation of EU Directive 2019/882. It will be held in Greek and take place onsite at National Confederation of Disabled People of Greece (NCDP) headquarters 236 Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue, Ilioupoli, Attica, Greece – Ground floor.
